March 9th This weekend I'm heading to Shropshire for a family 'do' so won't have time to blog. So Blog off, but please come back soon! March 8th. Today you can call me Mellow Yellow. Yep, it was such a lovely sunny day today I took the dog for an extended walk. The primroses are starting to push their way through the earth, which gave a proper spring feel to the day. The way that I live my life is very weather dependent; and when the first proper spring 'feeling' day arrives it is always a spirit booster. I love the little primroses and love the way a colour is named after them - Primrose Yellow. It made me wonder how many colours are named after flowers? Rose, for one I guess? Oh no! Now that's just made me think of Khaki- (the Welsh word for Shitty). Right I'm going to stop thinking about colour names as I've managed to 'taint' the subject. Instead; here's a photo I took today for 'hue'..... Which incidentally by nature, (unlike me ) is 'Prim' and Proper! March 7th. So yesterday I did some magic mushrooms 'cos I'd lost the 'thread'. (See yesterday's post). Then today I went to take a photo on my phone but there was no memory left. So I had to take the files and video's off the phone and put them onto the computer (2000 plus files yikes!). Anyway; for some reason I have to upload my pics using image capture, but this will only let me load onto 'pictures' not a chosen file. So; I have to upload then, make new files to put them in. If I want to keep a hard copy I can only put between 400-450 pics on a disc , so that's quite a few new files I have to make. Then move them all by hand. Yes; you've guessed what I've been doing all day! This is another great example of the 'A stitch in time' quote. So, hopefully tommorrow I'll be back to doing real 'stitches' when I return to my tartan hat making. Yes;...... I'll be on it, like a Scotch Bonnet! March 6th. I had to get away from the computer the last few days as C.F. had set in...(Cabin Fever) The melting snow had left a small trail of destruction behind and I felt I needed to get out into the fresh air. Anyway; with the newly found envigoured me, came a desire to do some magic mushrooms. I felt that if I did some in my shed; away from everyone else, it would be like the 'Rites of Spring'. I have a statue outside the showman's caravan door which looks at me when ever I go in or out and it has been annoying me for a while, so today I fixed it. I made them out of copper, then drilled a hole in her hand for her to hold them. I can't decide whether to clean the firescale off as I want to let them naturally weather like an old statue and get that verdigris hue. What do you reckon?.... More mushrooms?...More twists?.........Or have I done too many magic mushrooms already?....... Please feel free to leave a comment :-) March 5th C.F March 4th C.F March 3rd C.F. March 2nd Even more snow today! Topped with freezing rain. The poor plants which were just beginning to bud will really be suffering. Think I'll have to speed weave to keep warm, hmm could that become a sport in the Winter Olympics I wonder?....I fear I'm simply 'waffling' now.... March 1st The first day of spring has caught every body on the hop. It decided to snow just as the pile of wood in the shed is at a pathetic low. I've got so many layers of clothing on I look like the Goodyear boy. Here's a pic of a very 'snowy' owl I chainsaw carved for the BBC area at Glastonbury Festival. (The set designer sent me a pic of a toy owl his son had, which I copied for the area).
