When the world seems like a big horrible scary place my default setting is, and always has been to go small. When I was a child I would often take myself away from reality by crawling around in the grass looking for four leaf clovers. (The neighbours must have thought I was such a strange child). Looking at the minute details in nature has always fascinated me; be it the veins in a petal, a water droplet, an ant or spider. As today was a glorious spring day the insects and flowers were looking vibrant and I snapped a couple of pics. I'm lucky enough to live next to a butterfly sanctuary, a woodland and the land itself is organic . I've probably got thousands of insect/flower photos on file as there is such a huge variety here. Here's a few I took whilst imagining I was hiding in a snail shell; making a bed in a dandelion, riding a hairy spider etc. (Yes I know I'm a strange adult too!). April 13th Grim day for world harmony. April 12th Today when I look at the news and see how May and Trump are thinking of bombing Syria which could result in W.W.3 ; I've just realised how sane I actually am, and how it now appears that the 'actual' loonatics have taken over the asylum... :-( April 11th I feel like I'm playing 'Artist' Musical Chairs at the moment. Just as I get going with a project, life switches the chairs again. You gotta expect that though when you've got your fingers in lots of pies. I just keep ploughing on in the hope that at some point I will have my 'C.O.B' moment, as I call it.(Crescendo of Brilliance) whereby the play that I'm writing wins a major West End Award, my jewellery is noted for pissing all over Pandora, and I win the Turner Prize...that's all!. Fingers crossed that it doesn't end up being a nob moment 'cos that would be a flop! April 10th It's raining AGAIN today and I'm living in hope that because we've got it in bucket loads at the moment; we'll have a lovely sunny dry summer again. (You can only hope?, but at the moment I feel like I'm drowning in hope). It may be time for a Travelling the Road tartan sou'wester. Oh yeah and Joy of Joys, I've just realised my new keyboard types a ' instead of an @ (I just had to copy and paste that one). I thought it was too good to be true.....I may be offline again for a few days whilst I get a replacement, that's if the Royal Mail do deliveries by boat? All aboard with the keyboard!. I think it's time to repeat the mantra.... A- April showers have been around since the dawn of time so they are meant to be. B- Disney's 'April Showers' scene in Bambi ......etc etc etc...... etc etc etc E......There's F*ck All you can do about it! April 9th It's started raining again today, but I am remaining positive. I've been focussing on some key issues that make April showers and rain in general a positive thing. A- April Showers have been around since the dawn of time so they are meant to be. B- Disney's 'April Showers' scene in Bambi is one of the best hand illustrated clips EVER! I found it beautiful and fascinating as a child, that people could draw rain so beautifully (after all it's see through isn't it?) C- Prince's song Purple Rain; i.m.h.o. one of the best songs ever. (O.k so the rain is not purple but you could stick some Roses Chocolates Brazil Nut wrappers on the window and it could almost look like it? D- Heavy rain during lunch hour at school meant you had to stay inside at lunchtime; which in turn meant 'activities', which in turn meant ART...Yay! E- There's 'F*ck All' you can do about it! .........Yes, I'm Singing in the Rain-It's easy when you're insane!...... I chose to do an activity today in my lunchtime, I stretched a scarf over a frame to see what the effect would be. I have always considered the Travelling the Road Tartan scarves to be art that you can wear, so I was interested to find out what it would look like hung on a wall. Here's the finished canvas...what do you think? April 8th Received some excellent feedback from friends today about my website. I love it when I get feedback, as a lot of the time I feel like Tweety Pie. I'm just here on my own in my little cage; twittering away to myself and I haven't got a clue if anyone is listening, AND there's usually a big black cat ready to trash everything if I'm not paying attention too. Mind you Looney Tunes probably wouldn't be allowed anymore due to being non P.C., and as for Woody Wood'pecker' he'd be a carpenter porn star surely?. April 7th Spring has sprung and so has my brain! (Sometimes I feel it is a bit like an over stuffed mattress actually?). Jeez, the work involved in updating a page on a website runs into overtime once you've uploaded, checked, tweaked etc. It wasn't like this 'Back in the day', then all you needed was a pencil and a rubber.....(eraser not Johnny, although you did hear rumours?... ) Anyway, I've finally started to upload images to my Gallery,...but where to start when you've been at it all your life...or where to finish...? (hopefully never 'cos I love it!). I've also explained the process of developing the 'Travelling the Road' tartan on the Traveller Tartan page too, on the advice of a friend who told me I 'totally under sell' myself. I love it when I get good advice from mates because sometimes when you are an artist you really 'can't see the wood for the trees'......hmmmm I wonder if Constable ever used that expression? April 6th The three metres of fabric I won in the Print me Pretty Easter competition has arrived! The winner of the competition wins three metres of fabric printed in their own design. I designed my fabric with a primroses theme, and made a patchwork style to signify renewal. It was very exciting tearing into the tissue paper wrapping to view the finished print. (Far more exciting than 50 Shades of Grey, and lots more colours too!). Now what to make with it? A friend suggested Pinny's which I quite like the idea of. Baby quilt's too as it's definately classed as cheater quilt fabric, any good suggestions?...please leave a comment if you do , or check out the fabric for sale on Print me Pretty.... (see the link above) :-) April 5th So...When I was in the kitchen, Doing a bit of stitching, In comes the cat , and knocks the keyboard out..... Yes; just as I decide I'm gonna start my blog and get active on the net again, one of my cats decides that they don't like it when I give some attention to my old Mac. He jumped up on the keyboard and knocked it off , ripping the usb out of the socket and rendering it 'cat'ergorically 'cat'put. Yes it was an actual 'cat'astrophe ! The new keyboard I ordered arrived today and boy is it loud! (It's not loud as in noisy, it's colours are loud. Yellow and black with extra large letters.) It's like hazard, or warning tape I>>>>><<<<<I (I tried to be clever there, and draw hazard tape with my new keyboard). It's not at all sophisticated like the old mac keyboard. That white letters on white keys sophistication, that anyone over 45 struggles to see without reading glasses. No this is most definately rude! If there's one thing this keyboard is shouting it's ..........F*ck Off Pussy! April 4th......... C.K.K. (Cat killed Keyboard) April 3rd......... C.K.K. April 2nd Guess who's back? I've been away writing another scene of a play that I've got on the back burner. Meanwhile back at the soggy ranch I can feel the sap rising and I've managed to add a 'click to buy' link on my 'Travelling the Road' Tartan page so you can now buy scarves and t-towels in the design. You can also read about the background work that went into developing it. I feel that spring proper is only just around the corner now as the primroses are in full bloom which is lovely. And, Yay! I won a design competition for an Easter fabric design competition with Print me Pretty where I used primroses as the theme. You can have a look here and it's available to buy from their online shop too if you fancy making a cheater quilt, or pinny , or spring themed cushion?

There are so many thing happened on your week, and I want t thank you for narrating each and every story you had on that day. By the way, what's the name of your paintings? You should have a special name on your paintings so that you will not have a hard time regarding the identification of your artworks. Besides, it will make everything easier as everything will be easily identified.
